As a District Attorney and as a Judge he always sought rightful justice and protections for victims.  As my Crime Advisor he was involved in significant anti-crime legislation involving DWI “three strikes you're out” and victims relief.  He was also a colorful character who loved life.  Needless to say he will be sorely missed.” – Governor Bill Richardson

New Mexico Governor Bill Richardson met with Burmese political leader, Aung San Suu Kyi on October 11, 2012 in Rangoon, Myanmar.    Richardson will spend five days in Myanmar.  During his stay, the Governor will meet with local political leaders to promote democracy.

Former New Mexico Governor Bill Richardson will attend the 2012 Democratic National Convention next week in Charlotte, North Carolina.  Richardson, a 2008 Democratic Presidential Candidate, was Chair of the 2004 Democratic National Convention held in Boston.   The Governor will also be doing interviews with U.S. and international media outlets.

Delta Tau Delta Fraternity presented its Alumni Achievement Award to Governor Richardson (Tufts University, 1970) at its biennial convention in Austin, Texas on August 4, 2012. Alumni Achievement Awards are extended to alumni of the Fraternity whose achievements in their fields of endeavor have brought honor and prestige to Delta Tau Delta. Richardson joins the ranks of exceptional Delts who have previously received this prestigious award, instituted in 1966.
